Down loading Individual Bayesian Analysis Packages

For those of you who do not have VNMR and so cannot use the interface to the various packages, it is still possible for you to make use of the software by running the software manually. To manually make effective use of these packages, you will have to have both ghostview and gnuplot. Fortunately these program are freeware and most UNIX systems have them installed.

Each of the packages listed below contain a link to access the package and a separate link to the chapter from the user manual describing the Bayesian calculations performed by the package. The links to the packages fetch a gzip compressed tar file. When these files are extracted they will create a directory who's' name is the package name. Within that directory you will find a SunOS and SGI IRIX6.x executable and a directory that contains an example data set that can used for testing.

For those of you who are going to use the SunOS executables, you will also need to pick up a set libraries that the SunOS executables need to be able to run correctly. I would advise you to place these libraries in a directory by themselves, for example you might name this directory "/usr/local/bayes/lib" and then modify your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable to point to "/usr/local/bayes/lib".

Finally, you can pick up a copy of the Bayes.test.data directory which contains additional test data for all of the packages.

To download individual packages, select the package you wish from the following list and activate the link. I would also advise you to download the chapter from the user manual so that you can understand exactly what calculations are being performed:

After down loading one of these packages unpack it using gzip and tar. Tar will create a directory that contains the executable, an analysis that is ready to run, and a "Readme" file with some instructions on how to run the analysis.
