Installing the Bayesian Analysis Software in VNMR
To install the Bayesian Analysis software under VNMR 6.1C
you must have root access to /vnmr, i.e., you must
have write permission in /vnmr and
root must have enough of a path
to find both tar and gzip.
-
Copy bayes.install, bayes.uninstall and
bayes..xxx.tar.gz
to the
/vnmr directory, where xxx is either sun4, harpo or IRIX6.32.
The exact name depends on whether you are installing on SunOS or
SGI IRIX6.X.
-
Make sure both bayes.install and bayes.uninstall are executable
and within your path. You can check this by issuing
"which bayes.install" and "which bayes.uninstall".
If which does not find these scripts you must fix root's path variable.
-
Change into the "/vnmr" directory and
issue "bayes.install
bayes..xxx.tar.gz"
and wait until the script
finishes the installation.
At this point the instillation is completed in the sense that
all of the changes to VNMR are now in place. However,
you must still
configure
the user accounts and
install and configure
the software on any remote systems you wish to use.
